UD-bow ‘09

ALMOST Cursed!!!!! (Krrrrrrrrrrffff)

It started on Monday, the 30th of march, the evening when I didn’t have any bottle o’ glass. It did seem a bit exciting at first and must have been extremely tough to get through with the same spirit(no grogs!!) for the next four days. It was the Ud-bow ’09 held in M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

Although we didn’t get to attend many events because were a part of them, the fest couldn’t have got any more entertaining for us. And it didn’t end there, the whole fest got better day by day.

I was out on 31^st to unleash my horizon hoping some scallywags would accompany me but then they marooned me. Marooned I was like a buffoon waiting for some exciting happenings. I was cursed to be alone. I was so close to going home and having a nice sleep. The suffocation in the work-shop uniform was getting to me in the hot sun. And ye better yet, I did find a solution. It consisted of a change of clothes borrowed from a friend and the temptation of just getting into an air conditioned room. And the closest port was the Hi-tech seminar hall. When I docked there, it was like a shot of morphine beginning to flow in my veins (Not that I know how it feels, but just mordantly assuming it!!!).

I took a seat there while my team-mate gave up hope, just ending up on his bed in his room. And I must say that he frankly doesn’t know what he missed out on. I didn’t have anyone to accompany me there in the hall and there is not one bit I regret entering the JAM. It wasn’t the air conditioning that makes me say this, but the event over-all. Then it flashed to me what Ud-bow ’09 was all about. Every scurvy dog was arguing there, be it criticizing or just arguing for the heck of it, making it the best way to make people laugh and involve themselves in the fun environment. It still amazes me of how the guys went readily on stage, just to get objected and criticized at their unfinished statements(shadies!!) and yet manage to walk off of it, with a broad smile on their face and a bigger one on the audience and that is what surprises me- how could something so intellectual and pretty complicated to an extent be so darn entertaining. Never was I cursed. (Pirates we are, for you to got more muddled in arrays of bewitching lies!!)

DEAD MAN’s day!!!

The main port amused me by some landlubbers tearing their throats for antakshari. Many lost faces I discovered on stage(most of them were Teachers!!!)on my way to discover seminar port for some louts were about to croon…..(gaga googoo gay gay!!! Krrrrrrrred were the amplifiers!!!).Indubitably god-forsaken island I was going to land. Thanks to my mateys for leading me to other ports!!!

On the other side of the spectrum that day, the DC was going on too. Although I missed it, my friends went on and on about it. Apparently, the words –Brussels, Adebayor and eccentric seemed too tough for them, and I can’t seem to imagine why.

At the end of the day, I just can’t imagine how events could turn around more than the previous day.

The answer although seemingly obvious has to be mentioned. It might me a stretch, but yet the truth to mention that I was so involved in other events that I never even found time to snap. The only time I got before my Sports and Entertainment to click some pictures was in the food court which can be justified just my looking at my pictures. The journey to the food court also paved way for some brilliant sights such as the “Insipid Hayabusa” stoned at the back literally(Under the proof of pics).

The Sports and Entertainment quiz seemed to be conducted so perfectly by the seniors, special thanks to the quiz club. The questions in the Prelims itself seemed to be so harmonic with the whole theme and not to mention the people there who seemed to be so in coherence with the knowledge. The whole fun lay in the very taste of the people mingling and meddling around with the knowledge which they already had to come up with something rational for the one they didn’t know. I couldn’t have been more surprised after the results of the prelims were out when it was informed that were the 9^th team to contend in the 8 teams finals, all thanks to Appy-the man of simple tastes( pansy) , Shantha-the soberman and santa-the Payal. The first round in the Finals itself seemed so classic and by that I mean the Album-art parodies of the legendary albums by the best musicians seen by time – Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc.. And the contenders there in the finals yet managed to know what was exactly happening. The rounds went on and on with one oblivious question followed by another in extreme arbit for an amateur like me. But it doesn’t exactly end here, the teams competing with me managed to answer so many. I’ve not exactly been in many quizzes, but seeing those people at work seems to instill this aura where you feel the need to know the answers to them by some or the other means and the reason being that when a person develops an interest or a passion for something, he can be separated from the rest of the flock by what he does to cultivate it. And these people seemed to be the ones who did. They had an interest in sports and entertainment and justified the reason for having so on stage.

And so I was bit bewitched on dead man’s day and the main stage beastie feasted on me (trufjgh djfue.. I’m no sushi…noooooooo!!!!!!)

AT BOW’s end!!!!! (nooooh it cant end……. I want I want I want!!!...rest)

Today, as soon as I docked at the college, the Rock vibe was instilled in everyone, everyone eager to come to college and watch the bands doing what they are good at. I come further into college, I see the technicians setting up the amplifiers, monitors and the instruments, the perfect setting at play. Louts like shahas, civil brigands , etc(males & females),etc(sbs) were significant.

But, I had other duties to attend to such as this reporting, missing out on the main essence of the fest.

But, the fest overall consisted of all that I can think of – right from the intellectual stuff to the rock scene to the literary events. Over-all, it was pretty much perfect for what I’ve experienced. Seriously, can’t wait for the next Ud-bow.

For now…. U scabrous dogs.. on the deck!!!!!

Bring me back that horizon!!!!!

PS: There were grog fests happening all over (ah u lousy underestimating brainiacs!!!!…)
